Whats with the color!
Food market. Place where endless amounts of fruits and vegetables are pilled up close enough to look like rainbow from far. Its funny how nature gets everything right. You have red apple with green leafs, golden salmon with slices of lemon, olives stuffed with garlic. Everything goes together! Mother nature must have some serious fashion degree and stylist on hand to make her off springs look like they just walked out of Vouge.
A lot f customers have the same problem when it comes to choosing garments. ”What would you put with it?” ”Can i wear the red top i got last week with this skirt?”. Days, when we had to plan outfits carefully to make sure we dont end up looking like M&M’s selection are over! We have gained the freedom to be able to mix and match colors depending of our mood. There is really no rule nowadays that would describe what is allowed to wear with certain color and whats not. Its total anarchy in fashion world! And in case if u decided to let yourself go and dressed like Xmas tree you can always shut some mouths saying that Balenciaga showed it on runaway last week.
But for anyone that has never been in touch with fashion magazine and would like to go out on the street in daylight i recommend colour wheel.
Its a great tool to anyone that stands in front of rack of clothes and has no idea what to put together. When it comes to color wheel simple rules apply:
*Colors that you find directly opposite each other on the wheel ( like green and red for example) are called complementary colors. Those are colors that create maximum contrast to each other but it dosent mean that put together they will look good! Because they are two colors with very strong character i would opt for the colour that is right next to the one pointed by color wheel ( for example blue – green and orange, blue – violet and yellow). This way you are blending in the second strong color to make it easier on eye.
*Colors that are right next to each other on color wheel are called analogue colors. They come from the same family (yellow- green, green and blue – green). The create perfect harmony and in an outfit will help you achieve the safely put together pallet. Thats the only way to make an outfit look good if you want match together colors that are very close together. If you decide to wear green pants with green tee and green shoes, you have just made yourself look like the perfect Sesame Street character. Instead wear garments that are just couple of shades brighter or darker from each other.
So now you have mastered the color wheel. But what if all you have in your current wardrobe is black ( because its slimming, or because you happen to be staff in department store where you are required to wear black uniform). Cheat your way through by layering! Put on that black T-shirt on but funk it up with some bright string top and bracelet! Or instead of boring classic tights put red tights with that skirt. Voila! Tasty looking outfit!
Color wheel is handy little helper but its important to remember that as long as you have CONFIDENCE anything will look good! Funny how we spend our lunch money on that scarf, purse etc, if we dont feel good in what we wear even 1000$ garment wont help us!
Wear colors that make you feel good, like the Special K woman when she puts red dress on.
Just remember one thing, and this is the only rules that if broken will send you to fashion jail:
NEVER wear black and navy together! The same with white and cream!!! But other than that, i swear to God and Dolce& Gabbana everything is allowed!
Have fun with you every day look and make getting ready every morning fun experience. Spin the wheel and see where it gets you:-)

6 years ago i finished my studies and came over to Dublin to begin something new. Adventure maybe? Met so many amazing people, seen a lot of inspiring places, ate more chips with vinegar that should be allowed!
Im fashion manager, fashion follower, fashion lover. I buy shoes like i buy fresh bread.
But most importantly i enjoy recreating my family recipes.
When i was little girl my mum would always tell that kitchen is her kingdom where she can be princess. I envied her a lot and wanted to be princess on my own, so i assisted her among boiling pots and pans whenever i could, observing closely as she turns simple beans and tomatoes into the most amazing dishes.
Now i have my own kingdom with pots and pans, where I can be princess om my own.
Just not looking for frog to turn him into prince, but rather into some tasty frogs legs:-)
maybe if you write more about this subject, i will understand it clearer.http://www.floresemesa.com
